Plumb Reserve Playground and Landscape Upgrade

Project Overview

GJ’s Landscape and Civil was engaged directly by Woollahra Municipal Council to deliver a complete makeover to this playground in Woollahra. The redesign and rebuild of the entire playground made this popular playspace at Woollahra more accessible, inclusive, modern and engaging for children.  It also brought all the play equipment and surfaces up to date with the latest Australian standards for safety.

The result is an action-packed playground with a thoughtful layout and exciting new equipment, appealing to a greater diversity of kids.

Key improvements included:

  • Providing a range of play experiences to cater to a range of age groups through active, imaginative, creative, social, quiet and free play. Timber and sandstone play equipment feature heavily in this design alongside proprietary playground equipment
  • Creation of play spaces that encourage play in natural environments to promote an understanding of the environment
  • Improved safety by incorporating barriers/ fencing to busy roadways
  • Additional monkey bars and extra screen planting between the playground and neighbouring residents following community consultation
